A Message from Elaine:
Dear Fellow Cruisers,
Over the years that Bob and I developed Skipper Bob
Publications we formed countless relationships with you, our friends. Our
goal has always been to provide you with useful information to make your
journeys safe, affordable and enjoyable. Since Bob’s passing in December of
2006 I have been working hard to maintain this information while searching
for the right someone to take over the responsibility. I feel that there needs
to be a man at the helm who is knowledgeable and loves cruising.
I am very pleased to announce that the experienced folks at
Waterway Guide have agreed to continue the legacy that we established over
the past 13 years. Ted Stehle, well known to most of you as Waterway
Guide’s web site news editor, is assuming the additional responsibility as
editor for Skipper Bob Publications and the Skipper Bob web site. Ted can be reached at tstehle@skipperbob.net and welcomes your questions and updates for Skipper
Bob Publications
For 60 years Waterway Guide has been providing accurate and
up-to-date information to cruisers. Their crews of on-the-water writers
provide factual, non-opinionated information of the same quality and detail
that Bob insisted on.
Jack Dozier, publisher of Waterway Guide, assures me that no
major changes are planned in the Skipper Bob publications and web
site. His aim is to keep them as
accurate and informative as possible, following the guidelines that make
Skipper Bob’s guides so very popular.
Jack and his wife, Craig, are avid cruisers and also own marinas in Virginia. This has
given them an in-depth understanding of what works for fellow cruisers.
My involvement with Skipper Bob Publications is not ending. I
am looking forward to seeing you at events and rendezvous as I continue to
represent Skipper Bob Publications. Thank you for all the support you have
given to me these past 10 months and thank you for making our guides a
success.
Happy cruising,
Elaine
